WATER AND
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEMS

The water and sanitary sewer system play a vital role in any development, it is hidden underground but are an essential part of how the site performs.   The Water and Sanitary sewer systems must be designed to provide an adequate capacity based on the expected demand and availability of resources.  The size of this system will vary based on the specific needs to the project, therefore, we consider each site individual needs and best design solutions for the project. We offer our clients a wide range of utility services from preliminary evaluation and design, to final construction and certification. Our list of services includes:

FIVE (5) YEAR STORMWATER CERTIFICATION

Portillo Engineering, Inc., offers civil engineering services to certify existing surface water management systems.  The surface water management system may consist of combinations of or all of the following facilities: lakes, canals, wetlands, swales, ponds, discharge structures, storm drains, french drains, drainage wells, manholes, stormwater pumping stations, associated storm sewer network, etc.  Routine maintenance of these facilities can ensure that the system is functioning as approved by the local permitting agency and, also helps the existing system to function as intended by the original design.  As part of the certification process, the existing stormwater system must be inspected and certified by a Florida Professional Engineer.

PERMITTING

The permitting process can be long and tedious process considering there are many steps that need to be taken before a permit is issued.  Permitting involves collecting information for the project, completing applications for multiple agencies such as: City, County, Water Management Districts, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and others, and processing through each agency. The goal in permitting is to keep the lines of communication open with our clients and agencies to make this process as fast and easy as possible.
